Findings of an extensive investigation on the financial
support given to Land Restitution Program beneficiaries were presented by
Minister Thoko Didiza newly today, 19 February 2024. Marking an important step
in South Africa's transition to restorative justice with the completion of the
study, which aimed to assess the program's effects on socioeconomic and
psychological impacts. The Minister emphasized the importance of addressing the
historical injustices inflicted upon individuals and communities, highlighting
the need for financial compensation to adequately support beneficiaries.

With the knowledge gathered from this study in hand, the
Department of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Development is still
dedicated to putting into practice successful land reform initiatives.
