The Department of roads and public works is currently regravelling the road between Ritchie to Douglas on the R357 and MR 808 Road in the Frances Baard District area. The department provides in an official statement that this work done serves the purpose of promoting bettering road safety in the Northern Cape and consists of work being done on an 35 kilometers long road and and adds that work on this route started from the Douglas T-junction. Furthermore the department reflects on work already done in this project and says that to date they have already regravelled 23 kilometers from the side of Douglas and are currently compacting the remaining 12 kilometers. The department requests that motorists are requested to be on the lookout for machinery on site and adhere to the safety instructions of the flagmen.
