The South African Police Service says in the latest success for Operation Vala Umgodi, members of the multi-disciplinary team confiscated a significant amount of suspected stolen diesel in Kimberley's Phuthanang area. According to the police, the operation, which aims to combat illicit activities, received intelligence-driven information about a house on Samora Machel Street where diesel was allegedly stored and sold. On Thursday, November 7, 2024, proactive and combat teams swooped in on the house, discovering diesel hidden in 25-liter containers within an unused toilet. According to information, the confiscated diesel is estimated to be worth R7, 000. An inquiry has been opened for further investigation, demonstrating Operation Vala Umgodi's commitment to tackling crime in the Northern Cape.
