Provincial police conducted compliance inspection at liquor
premises, firearm dealers second handed goods dealers, scrapyards and
unlicensed liquor outlets were closed and over 500 litres of alcohol were
confiscated. Police spokesperson colonel Cherelle Ehlers says actions led to
the confiscation of dangerous weapons, ammunition, drugs including dagga, Tik
and mandrax tables. Ehlers says police conducted disruptive actions in all 5
districts to address the needs of the community members and to enhance awareness
to regarding the prevention of domestic violence, fraud, scams and
housebreaking. She says community members are encouraged to share information
regarding criminal activities to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
