The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape says they arrested 200 suspects during Operation Shanela that address crimes ranging from murder, rape, robbery and housebreaking from the 1st until the 7th of July 2024. Police spokesperson colonel Cherelle Ehlers says police traces and arrested 112 wanted suspects for illegal dealing in drugs, illegal dealing in liquor, business and residential robbery just to mention a few. Cherelle says members of the community are encouraged to share information regarding criminal activities to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
