The Northern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) hosted a week long Mathematics camp in Upington for grade 11 learners in the quest to entice more learners around the Province to pursue their careers in the Chartered Accounting field. The department states that the identified 180 learners who took part in the camp comes from all over the province and are those who have been consistently achieving 60% and above in the Mathematics subject. The department together with SAICA is hopeful to broaden learners’ knowledge in this scarce field but most importantly to encourage learners in selecting Chartered Accounting as their career of choice.
