Department of Roads and Public Works empower and educate its junior employees

The Department of Roads and Public Works has launched an initiative to educate and empower its employees by partnering with the Central University of Technology (CUT) in the Free State. The department says this collaboration involved training 35 employees in junior and supervisory management roles to prepare them for potential advancement within the department. Recently, 32 out of the 35 employees have successfully completed the program and were awarded certificates at an official graduation ceremony. The department highlighted that the programs undertaken were the Supervisory Management Development Programme, equivalent to an NQF Level 5, and the Middle Management Development Programme, equivalent to NQF Level 7. Dr. Johny MacKay, the Head of the Department, encouraged the staff to continue growing in knowledge and experience, thereby transforming the department and pursuing excellence.
