A crucial meeting took place between the Mayor of Joe Morolong Local Municipality, Dineo Leutlwetse-Tshabalala, the Municipal Manager, Boipelo Motlhaping, Ward cancellor Thapelo Mosegedi, and the Community Representatives of Glenred on the past week of June 28, 2024. The municipality says the meeting aimed to address the concerns expressed by the community. The municipality, in an official statement, conveyed that the community representatives raised issues regarding the absence of essential services in the village, such as a library, clinics, and a home-based care center. In response, the municipality recognized the community representatives' efforts to ensure their concerns are addressed. Moreover, the Mayor emphasized the significance of the community's attendance at IDP & Budget Road-Shows to enhance public participation, which allows the community to become acquainted with projects and contribute valuable feedback on the documents. The Mayor, along with the Municipal Manager, pledged to engage in thorough discussions with the relevant sector departments to address the concerns raised.
