The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) in the Northern Cape has welcomed and congratulated Abraham Vosloo on his appointment as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) of Education in the province. SADTU Provincial Secretary, Palesa Nqumashe, says the union is excited by this appointment mainly because Vosloo has a proven track record of leadership and dedication in the public service. Nqumashe further says that with his extensive background in the education sector and government, the union believes he will make a significant impact to improve the performance of the Northern Cape Department of Education (NCDOE). Furthermore, Nqumashe stated that Vosloo's background as the previous MEC for Finance means he fully understands the challenges faced by NCDOE in terms of budgetary constraints and, to a larger extent, the moratorium on filling posts and late salary payment of education workers. She says SADTU has committed to working closely with the newly appointed MEC for Education. Nqumashe elaborates..Insert - SADTU
