THE SAHRC NORTHERN CAPE PROVINCIAL OFFICE TO CONDUCT A COMMUNITY HUMAN RIGHTS CHAMPION EMPOWERMENMT WORKSHOP

The South African Human Rights Commission in the Northern Cape Province held a community Human Rights champions empowerment workshop today, June 26, 2024, from 10:00 in the morning until 13:00 in the afternoon, at the Nare Boutique Hotel in New Park, Kimberley. The commission says, the workshop's goal was to empower people and organizations that are leading the charge in promoting social justice and human rights in their communities. Information suggests that as awareness of human rights grows over time due to multiplier effects, these people and organizations will enable marginalized communities, vulnerable populations, and minority groups to access and realize their rights and to gain a deeper understanding of them. The commission says the main goals of the seminars are to increase awareness and comprehension of human rights and to provide communities and people the confidence to stand up for their rights.
