Environmental activists take on Cage-free Community Indaba

The Southern African Faith Communities Environment Institute (SAFCEI) is holding the second Cage-free Community Indaba, today 26 June 2024 to raise awareness about animal welfare in South Africa. The event will focus on animal welfare and the link between climate change and animal farming systems. According to research, Egg-laying hens are among the most abused animals in South Africa, to elaborate more SAFCEI’s Cage-Free Campaign Coordinator, Zwelisha Shobede continues...INSERT[HENS] Shobede ends by saying the event aims to raise awareness of the harsh and inhumane treatment of animals for human consumption and to educate communities on the importance of treating animals with care.
