The South African Police Service through Operation Vala umgodi together with the department of forestry, fisheries and the environment arrested 2 men aged 18 and 28 respectively for contravention of the marine living resources act in Hondeklipbaai. The suspects were arrested on Thursday, 13 June 2024. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says upon arrival the team spotted the identified white Toyota Hilux and requested to do an inspection with officials of DEEF. Sam says they found 150 snoek fish without the relevant authorized permits. He says cash believed to be the proceeds of crime was seized and the driver of the vehicle was driving without a driver's license. Both suspects will appear in Court soon.
