This morning the Northern Cape provincial legislature had their first sitting as the 7th administration today. The purpose of the first sitting was for the swearing in of all members of the legislature as well as the nomination and appointment of speaker, deputy speaker of the house and the premier of the Northern Cape. Dr Zamani Saul retained his position as premier of the province with 19 votes against 11 of Isak Fritz who was also nominated as the premier. Newrene Klaaste is the speaker of the legislature. She was nominated together with Harold Mgcluwa where she received 19 voted and Mgcluwa 11. Mangaliso Matika is the deputy speaker.
