Child Protection Event in Gasese, Kuruman

On June 3rd, 2024, the Tsineng police, along with the local community police forum, the police youth desk, and the department of social development, celebrated child protection week. According to a police statement, the event received support from the Tsineng community-based drill platoon, which added to the attraction and entertainment. During the event, Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock, the police spokesperson, addressed community members on crucial issues related to children’s rights and crimes against children in Tsineng and the John Taolo Gaetsewe district. Kock says tge child protection awareness program successfully reached 150 community members. He says this initiative is part of the police’s recognition of Child Protection Month, operating under the theme “Protecting South African children, 30 years on.” Kock says the collaboration between law enforcement, community organizations, and concerned citizens highlights the importance of safeguarding our children and ensuring their well-being.
