The Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements, and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA) is currently hosting an Integrated Development Plan (IDP) engagement session with all 31 municipalities in the province. The session is taking place at the Protea Hotel in Upington from today until June 5th, 2024. Head of Communications at Coghsta in the province, Tebogo Monyo says the purpose of these engagement sessions is to assess whether municipalities have identified areas in which the IDP for 2022-2026 needs to be amended. He says additionally, the sessions aim to assist and support municipalities in integrating and consolidating programs and projects involving external stakeholders, including sector departments and the private sector. Monyo says, this collaboration will help ensure that planned projects for the financial year 2024-2025 find expression in the Municipal IDPs1.
