The Department of Agriculture, Environmental affairs, Rural development and Land Reform in the Northern says it is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) and the Llima/Letsema Grant for the financial year 2025/26. The department says that these programmes are designed to support target farmer groups in enhancing productivity, sustainability, and overall agricultural development.  The eligibility criteria according to the department includes: Smallholder and emerging farmers, Farmer cooperatives, Black commercial farmers, Women, Youth; people with disabilities; and new agro-industries will receive priority.   The department thus encourages eligible farmer groups to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to grow and develop their agricultural enterprises which will provide aid to build a sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector. The closing date for the applications is on 30 June 2024.
