A 26 year old man was found guilty and sentenced at Kimberley regional court to 10 years direct imprisonment for rape and was also declared unfit to possess a firearm. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Sergio Kock says a 21 year old woman went to sleep in her home in Homelite, Kimberley on the 30th December 2021 and she woke up the next morning and discovered her neighbour who was naked in her bed. the suspect was arrested. Kock says provincial police welcomes the 10-year rape sentence that was  handed down to the 26 year old accused.
