Child protection week involved different stakeholders

Police in partnership with different stakeholders addressed learners and the youth on general discipline, bullying at school, cyber bullying, online dating, substance abuse, trafficking of children, child pornography and encouraged the youth to participate in crime prevention initiatives. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the learners were also presented with coloring books and information booklets stipulating the rights of children. Sam says the events was hosted to encourage the youth participate in community engagements and refrain from committing crime. He says provincial commissioner Lieutenant general Koliswa Otola stated that the police will continue to protect children during child protection week and beyond.
