The MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Abraham Vosloo yesterday paid respective visits to communities of Gariep Water and Louisvale Weg. The department says, the MECs visit was held with the intended purpose to cement the ongoing relationship between government and the community. Vosloo stated that schools, churches, Non – Governmental Organizations and Non – Profit Organizations are structures that plays pivotal roles as communities as a whole are not able to prosper in the absence of these bodies which brings hope and stability. Vosloo further added that the provincial government is aware that cooperation is needed to better the lives of communities. According to information, the MEC has according to information made a commitment to 25 churches, 9 NPOs/NGOs and 18 SMMEs who will each receive R15 000.
