A 43 year old suspect collapsed on the ground before police arrest him

The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape says, the 43-year-old man who died ealier today in Danielskuil, allegedly died before the police arrested him. Social media users vented their anger after it was alleged that the police killed a Nigerian national who allegedly is selling drugs. The police says they followed up on information regarding dealing in drugs at the suspects premises where they entered after obtaining permission from the residents to conduct a search for drugs. The police says, during the search police allegedly found drugs in the room, the suspect resisted arrest and collapsed on the ground. The police says they revived the deceased and alerted the ambulance service however when the ambulance arrived the suspect was declared dead on the scene. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
