The South African Championships of Performing Arts, celebrating its 27th year, is often referred to as the “Olympics for Performing Arts.” Ateniek Beukes, the SACOPA Northern Cape Director, explains that this annual competition has been running for 27 years. She says this year, the event takes place in the Northern Cape, in Upington at the Desert Palace Casino & Resort. The program is scheduled for tomorrow, May 18, 2024. Beukes says there are 25 entries, and participants will compete in various categories such as Modeling, Acting, Dancing, Singing, and instrumental performances. Registration begins at 9:00 AM, with the event itself starting at 10:00 in the morning. Beukes encourages local artists to participate in the semi-auditions.
