Pampierstad sentenced a man after police arrested him

Provincial commissioner Lieutenant general Koliswa Otola and her management applauded the Hartswater family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit for securing the life imprisonment sentence handed down by the Warrenton regional court. The sentence was handed down to the 35-year-old Pogiso Tlhoilwe following the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Pampierstad on the 20th of  December 2018. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the court heard that the accused and the victim were walking home together when the accused dragged her into the stadium premises and raped her. Sam says the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment for rape and instructed that his name be recorded in the national register for sex offenders and declared him unfit to possess a firearm.
