The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant general Koliswa Otola welcomes the life imprisonment sentence handed down by the Springbok regional court to 38 year old Fenandes Damon for rape. Damon was found guilty for the rape of a 42 year old mentally challenged female victim in Kommagas and theft in June 2020. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the court on Friday, the 3rd May 2024 sentenced Damon to life imprisonment for 1 count of rape and 12 months imprisonment for theft.
