The South African Championships of Performing Arts celebrating
its 27th year, is seen as the Olympics for Performing Arts. Ateniek Beukes,
SACOPA Northern Cape Director says this is an annual competition that has been
going on for 27 years now. She says it is a national competition where all
artists from the 9 provinces partake. Beukes says the artists includes dancers,
actors, singers, models and instrumentalists. She further explains that the Northern
Cape is also one of the provinces where the semi-finals auditions will be
hosted on the 18 May 2024 at Desert Palace Casino in Upington where all
performing artists are being invited to partake. Beukes says those that are
lucky to win will continue to participate in the national competitions that
will be held in September, in Rustenburg. She says the winning team at the
nationals will represent the country at the World Championships of Performing
Arts in Los Angeles America and also get to sign a contract and get
scholarship. She concluded by inviting local performing artists to be part of
