Service Delivery program held at Piet Thole community hall

The Government Communications and Information System (GCIS) in the ZF Mgcawu district yesterday played part in an service delivery outreach program conducted by the department of Social Development at the Piet Thole community hall in Upington. According to information the program focused on a number of challenges identified in the community by the department that include crime, substance abuse teen pregnancy, GBV and school dropouts and broken families and ways that these can be addresses by both the department and the community members. MEC Nontobeko Vilakazi delivered the key note address at this event while other officials also had their turn to address the members of the community and includes the director in the ZF Mgcawu district Godfrey Mjezu as well as ZF Mgcawu executive mayor Maryna Basson. GCIS provides that the department also handed over gift packages for various residents including 10 packages for expecting mothers for starting materials for the arrival of their new borns.
