Home Affairs extends operational hours in support of Local Government Elections

From 2 to 3 November, Home Affairs offices will be open from 08:00 to 18:00. On election day, 4 November, offices will open from 07:00 to 21:00.

During these extended hours, people will be able to collect their completed IDs, apply for identity documents or obtain Temporary Identity Certificates, where applicable.

The department is encouraging everyone who has applied for an ID to collect it before election day to avoid any last-minute problems that could prevent them from voting.

Community leaders, local organisations and stakeholder forums are also being asked to help spread the word and encourage eligible voters to make sure they have the correct documents.
