ZF Mgcawu Emerging Farmers Call for Government Support

Emerging farmers in the ZF Mgcawu District have called on the government to provide assistance in securing agricultural land and financial support. They believe that with funding from the Land Bank, arranged through the Department of Agriculture, they will be able to expand and sustain their farming businesses.

This follows President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent announcement that the Department of Agriculture has launched a blended finance instrument in partnership with the Land Bank. The initiative aims to assist farmers who require capital to develop and grow their operations.

In his weekly letter, the president emphasized the importance of integrating black farmers into commercial agriculture, stating that access to land is a key factor in achieving this goal. He also highlighted the vital role of the agricultural sector in South Africa’s broader economic growth agenda.

As discussions around agricultural development continue, emerging farmers in the ZF Mgcawu District remain hopeful that they will receive the necessary support to strengthen their businesses and contribute to food security and economic progress.
