Upingtonians commented on VAT increase

Community members in Upington and surrounding areas have voiced their concerns over the proposed increase in VAT. This comes after Parliament’s finance cluster acknowledged that last month’s postponement of the budget tabling has left them with limited time to process the upcoming budget.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana is set to present the delayed budget tomorrow, March 12, 2025, following cabinet disagreements over the proposed VAT hike from 15% to 17%.
