Upington Community Reacts to Women’s Empowerment in Leadership

Community members in Upington have shared their views on the empowerment of women following remarks by former President Thabo Mbeki, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who praised Namibia for electing its first female president.

They believe that the election of Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah sends a strong message that leadership is not defined by gender. According to them, women in Upington and beyond are just as capable as men in taking on leadership roles in society. The leaders shared their views as follows:
