Patient Goes Missing At Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital

The South African Police Service are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a missing 55-year-old man, Elias Lumkwana.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock, Lumkwana, originally from Colesberg, was admitted to Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley on March 4, 2025. A family member who visited the hospital the following day was unable to locate him and subsequently reported him missing at the Kimberley police station on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Kock urges anyone with information about Lumkwana’s whereabouts to contact the police or use the MySAPS App. He also reminds the public that there is no waiting period to report a missing person.
