Kimberley Stock Theft Unit Seeks Public's Help in Tracing Livestock Owners
The Kimberley Stock
Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STESU) is urging the public to come forward
and assist in locating the owners of 14 cows recovered after allegedly being
stolen. The cattle were discovered near the Gogapomp fields in Galeshewe on
February 11, 2025, following a tip-off about suspected stolen livestock.
The police seized the branded cattle and are now seeking the help of the public in tracing their rightful owners.
The police says in a statement, individuals who believe the cattle may belong to them are encouraged to contact Detective Constable Thapelo Nthutang. However, owners will be required to provide proof of ownership to reclaim their livestock.
The
police are emphasizing the importance of branding and tattooing livestock to
prevent theft and facilitate easy identification.
