ARC to Host G20 Agriculture National Dialogue in Pretoria
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC), in collaboration
with the Department of Agriculture and the Food, Agriculture and Natural
Resources Policy Analysis Network , will host a G20 Agriculture
National Dialogue on 18 March 2025 at the ARC Vegetable, Industrial and
Medicinal Plants Institute in Roodeplaat, Pretoria from 09:00 to
12:00. The dialogue aims to strengthen South Africa’s position in international
agricultural science and contribute to the G20 Agriculture Working Group and the Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists.
Key discussions will focus on biodiversity stewardship, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable soil health management, and the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies in agriculture. The One Health approach, linking human, animal, and ecosystem health, will also be highlighted.The event seeks to align national research priorities with global trends while fostering collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders.
