NIPMO to Host Intellectual Property Workshop for Small Businesses
Small business owners in the science and technology sector
are invited to an intellectual property (IP) workshop hosted by the National
Intellectual Property Management Office (NIPMO). The event runs from 11 to 13
March at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice in Menlyn, Pretoria. Part of the
Swiss-South African Intellectual Property Project (SSAIP), the workshop will
help small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) protect and commercialise
their innovations.
The initiative supports the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation’s White Paper and Decadal Plan, which emphasise innovation as a driver of economic growth. It also forms part of NIPMO’s efforts to strengthen South Africa’s IP landscape through activities like World IP Day and the Technology and Innovation Support Centre workshop. Sessions start at 08:30 daily.
