Provincial police conducted operations at 46 vehicle control points and 10 roadblocks across all five districts over the past week.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Molefi Shemane stated that multiple premises were searched, 2,453 vehicles were stopped, and 5,026 individuals were searched.

Shemane added that Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola reaffirmed the province's commitment to Operation Shanela, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach to crime across all districts.

During the operation, police confiscated copper, dangerous weapons, thousands of liters of alcohol, drugs, dagga, and money suspected to be proceeds of crime.
