SAPS Takes Proactive Stance Against Bullying in Northern Cape Schools

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Northern Cape has actively addressed bullying in schools through a radio discussion on Radio Teemaneng FM. The segment, aired on 10 February 2025, was led by Sergeant Timothy Sam, Sergeant Neo Noge, and Constable Amelia Geweer from the FCS Unit. They discussed various forms of bullying, including cyberbullying, and the legal implications surrounding these issues.

The SAPS team provided safety tips and strategies for educating learners, parents, and teachers, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in preventing bullying. They encouraged reporting incidents and cautioned children against criminal behavior. Sergeant Sam reminded children that they could be held accountable for their actions if they understood the wrongfulness of their behavior.

SAPS also reiterated its commitment to combating bullying through ongoing FCS and Social Crime Prevention Awareness Programs, urging anyone affected by bullying to seek support.
