Police Investigate Murder of Vennesa Witbooi
Upington police are investigating the murder of Vennesa Witbooi, who was allegedly stabbed by an unknown assailant in the early hours of December 26, 2023. The incident occurred between Pabalello and Dakotaweg at approximately 01:00.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela, Witbooi ran into a yard in Dakota, where she collapsed. She was unable to confirm whether she recognized her attacker before losing consciousness.
A passing motorist, who was en route to the hospital, transported Witbooi for medical assistance. However, she succumbed to her injuries upon arrival.
Masegela confirmed that all available leads have been pursued, but no arrests have been made at this stage. A case of murder has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
