Aveng Moolmans, an international engineering-led contractor and a Business Partner for Tshipi e Ntle Mining in Mamatwan Farm in Kathu, announced a devastating car accident that occurred on the evening of Saturday, 15 July 2023, resulting in the loss of four lives and six injuries. Moolmans released a statement yesterday confirming that the incident happened at approximately 19h00 in the evening on the R31 road between Hotazel and Kuruman, when a third-party vehicle collided with their vehicle that carried 10 employees. Six employees reportedly sustained injuries and four passed away. The statement says, two of the six employees were treated at the Lenmed Kathu hospital and got discharged while the other four remain in hospital, three at Lenmed Kathu while the other 1 person is at Kimberley hospital. The company says that they are currently working closely with the hospitals to ensure that the injured employees receive the best possible medical care and remain in close contact with the families of the deceased and injured individuals, providing them with the necessary support and assistance. The company also added that their crisis management team is working to provide counselling services and any additional help required during this difficult period.
