Port visit deepens understanding existing port infrastructure, logistics processes, and trade capacities to support the Northern Cape’s industrial development vision.

The Northern Cape Provincial Government says a recent three-port visit led by Premier Dr. Zamani Saul, together with the MEC responsible for Finance, Economic Development, and Tourism, Venus Blennies-Magage, following an invitation by the Transnet National Port Authority, has deepened the understanding of existing port infrastructure, logistics processes, and trade capacities to support the Northern Cape’s industrial development vision. With major milestones reached in the development of the Boegoebaai Port and Rail Project, this transformative infrastructure initiative is designed to address the Northern Cape’s logistical challenges and capitalize on its export potential. Information indicates that key lessons learned include the importance of the relationship between the Port and key stakeholders, such as local and provincial governments, as well as communities.
