The MEC for Finance, Economic Development, and Tourism in the Northern
Cape, Venus Blennies, was speaking today ahead of the initial celebrations for
International Tourism Day in Carnarvon, Northern Cape. According to Blennies,
the event highlights the importance of tourism in boosting local economies and
promoting cultural heritage. This year, national tourism celebrations will be
hosted in Carnarvon, which boasts unique attractions, including its rich
astronomy history and natural beauty. Carnarvon is considered a key destination
for both domestic and international travelers. Blennies further added that the
celebrations are aimed to encourage community involvement and raise awareness
about sustainable tourism practices.
