Woman Discovers Rat Remains in Loaf of Sasko Bread, PepsiCo SA Responds

Nombulelo Mkumla, shared a shocking discovery when she found rat remains in a loaf of Sasko bread she had purchased from a local store. In a video that was shared on social media Mkumla detailed her unpleasant experience. She said she had bought the bread on August 27th and consumed some of it before discovering the rat remains on August 31st. She reported the incident to the store and the supplier, Pioneer Foods, who acknowledged receipt of her complaint but initially suggested the bread had mold. Mkudla says, it was until the 7th of September 2924 that a representative from Sasko called Mkumla to apologize for the incident, explaining that the heat in their baking process could lead to such occurrences. The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many users expressing their disgust and calling for a proper apology from Sasko. Cornel Vermeulen, General Manager of Bakeries at PepsiCo South Africa, acknowledged the incident and stated that the company is taking measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. A young concerned mother in Upington Maxine Jones expresses her opinion regarding the incident. Jones says that it is unfair that people must consume this bread and calls for the responsible authorities to take action. Another concerned mother shared her opinion as follows:
