A delegation from the National Council of Provinces, led by the NCOP Provincial Whip, Honourable Patrick Mabilo, conducted an oversight visit to the Ritchie Housing Project in the Sol Plaatje Municipality yesterday as part of the NCOP Provincial Week. The department of COGHSTA in the Northern Cape says in an official statement that the theme of the Provincial Week this year is ''Confronting the Challenges Facing the timely Delivery of Viable Public Infrastructure to Communities''. The department says officials from the Department, were led by the Head of the Department, Bafedile Lenkoe, and Chief Director for Human Settlements in the Department, Gratitude Booysen, and as a collective briefed the delegation around challenges that led to the delays in the completion of the project, and the mitigation processes to ensure that the beneficiaries ultimately receive the houses as part of this project. As a continuation of their visit in the Province the NCOP delegation are furthermore scheduled to visit other public infrastructure projects in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality today.
