AfriForum's local chapter in Kuruman has reportedly launched an
innovative project, installing four License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras in
strategic locations throughout the town. AfriForum says this cutting-edge technology is
designed to enhance public safety and aid law enforcement agencies in their
quest to combat crime. It says the LPR cameras, which
can identify number plates and cross-reference them with local and
international databases, will enable authorities to respond swiftly to criminal
activity, track down suspects, and prevent potential threats. AfriForum says as the project unfolds, residents can expect a noticeable improvement in
security and a reduction in crime rates.
