Sol Plaatje University Hosts Their Second Annual Worth Colloquium Event

The Faculty of Humanities at the Sol Plaatje University held their second annual Women in Research in the Humanities (WORTH) Colloquium event yesterday. The university says this event was dedicated to celebrating and advancing the contributions of female researchers and saw various keynote speakers participating including Dr Wilma Newhoudt-Druchen, former Member of Parliament and advocate for the Deaf community who also made a contribution toward passing the bill that recognised South African Sign Language as the 12th official language. The university says all individuals who participated took turns to highlight how women can use their research to challenge myths and break down stigma.
