Sol Plaatjie & police arrested 41 suspects

The Sol Plaatje municipality in partnership with the South African Police Service led compliance inspections at several business premises, shops and several illegal street vendors won Friday, the 16th of August 2024. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Sergio Kock says a total of 41 fines were issued to the value of R30 000-00 for various violations. Kock says provincial components, the Frances Baard district office, Galeshewe, Kagisho, Roodepan, departments of Labour and Home Affairs just to mention a few joined forces to squeeze the space for criminals to operate. He says the acting provincial commissioner major general Luntu Ngubelanga and the Sol Plaatje mayor Kagisho Sonyone led the Operation Shanela in the greater Kimberley area.
