Police arrested 6 men believed to be
foreign nationals between the ages of 22 and 40 years old for tampering with
essential infrastructure near Britstown on the 14th of August 2024. Police
spokesperson colonel Cherelle Ehlers says police stopped a Nissan bakkie that was
allegedly travelling from the Western Cape to Johannesburg. Ehlers says the
suspects were allegedly involved in the theft of copper cable in Leeu Gamka,
Laingsburg and Worcester. She says the suspected stolen cables were recovered in
