DA Protests Outside Court, Demands Justice for Rochanda Louw

The Democratic Alliance is taking a stance against gender-based violence and femicide by protesting outside the Upington magistrates court. The protest, which began this morning, is in response to the murder of 27-year-old Rochanda Louw, a mother of three, in an alleged domestic violence incident on Saturday, August 10, 2024. DA spokesperson, Pricilla Isaacs, expressed the party's outrage and disappointment, stating, saying they are very unhappy about the senseless killing of victim. The protest features placards with messages, emphasizing the need for justice and an end to GBVF. The DA is demanding that the court take a firm stance against domestic violence and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Omphile Masegela, confirmed the incident and also encouraged the residents to break the silence and stand together against Gender Based Violence and Femicide. The DA says it will continue to stand in solidarity with the victims of GBVF and demand justice for the latest victim and all those who have lost their lives to this senseless violence.  Isaaks said the following:Insert - Pricilla Isaacs
