Leaders of the Koda Association have taken a proactive approach
to addressing the rising poverty levels in their community. They have
established a food garden project, which has reportedly shown promising results in
its first trial run.
According
to Francois Booysen, Treasurer of Koda, the project spans 2000 square
meters and has received funding from Arnel Green and CCM. The team aims to
complete the contract by August 15, 2024.
The organization says, the food garden will serve multiple purposes. They say the first harvest will be used in the local soup kitchen the second batch will be sold to local groceries, the third batch will be distributed to community members through the outreach program: Insert - Local BusinessesThe social enterprise also has field workers who assist
