The National Consumer Commission (NCC) inspected suppliers
of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in both the Northern Cape and Gauteng
provinces. The NCC states that this was done to ascertain compliance with the
provisions of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Phetho Ntaba, spokespersom for
the National Consumer Commission says that the inspections were prompted by
complaints and the Commissions drive to ascertain that suppliers of Fast-Moving
Consumer Goods are compliant to the Consumer Act. Ntaba elaborates on the
discoveries of non-compliance.
