Annually, on 9 August, South Africa commemorates Women’s Day to pay tribute to the bravery, resilience, and strength of women across the nation.
In an effort of their own to commemorate the day as they celebrate 10 years, the Sol Plaaitjie university is today engaging the community on the democratic issues of society, focusing on gender equity and women’s empowerment. The university in celebration of Women’s Month, has extended and invitation to the community to attend the SPU Women’s Month Public Lecture. The university says this year's celebration will have Dr Nthabiseng Moleko, a distinguished Development Economist and Senior Lecturer at the Stellenbosch Business School, as a guest speaker. The university says the lecture will begin from 16:00 this afternoon at the SPU Library Auditorium.
