The Northern cape Provincial Legislature's John Taolo Gaetsewe Regional Liaison Officer, Jenes Manhe facilitated a civic education workshop at a tribal gathering in Gasebolao-Tshukudung, a village near Kuruman yesterday. The Provincial legislature provides that through this session, community members were given insight into legislative processes, with emphasis on public participation as an important component of a democratic governance, as well as the petition system. The NCPL says the community also used this session as an opportunity for them to communicate various issues they are faced with in their everyday lives, as well as the poor service delivery which led to more interest in the petition system.
